Western Sydney Oodles

Guardian dog home

In Western Sydney Oodles, we believe that every dog deserves the opportunity to live in a loving, forever home. In our home, all of our dogs live rather than in kennels, so that they can get the most attention possible. Our Guardian Home Program was created to address this issue. A Guardian Home is a permanent home for one of our breeding females or males.

Guardian Homes are responsible for all of the expenses associated with owning dogs, such as annual exams, vaccinations, and food. We will cover all breeding-related costs such as health exams, progesterone tests, x-rays, etc.

Guardian dog home requirements

Being a Guardian Home is not for everyone. This is a list of requirements you MUST follow:

  • Previous dog experience is required.
  • Teaching commands such as sit, stay, lay down, no, and leave it is essential.
  • Socialize the dog as much as you can. There is no doubt that this is important!
  • An indoor pet must never be left unattended outside.
  • Ensure you are feeding high-quality food. 3.5 stars or higher.
  • If you have other dogs in your home who are of the opposite sex, they MUST be fixed as well.
  • Exercising regularly is important.
  • You are willing to let us, the breeder, visit your home.
  • Willing to invite us, the breeder, into your home.
  • Breeder should be contacted immediately if a serious illness or accident occurs.
  • Provide Breeder with a copy of all vet visits.
  • No unapproved dogs may be mixed with him/her.
  • In case of need, provide veterinary care.
  • A female dog’s guardian must be willing to drop her off for 1-2 weeks while she is being bred. You can then drop her off 1 week before her due date for whelping. We will keep her until the puppies are weaned.
  • Unless arrangements have been made in advance to pick up the dog, guardians must be willing to drop off their male dog for breeding for 3-5 days. If we want to breed your dog, we might come to your home, so you’ll need to be available for a meeting.
  • It is important for you to be able to communicate with us, the breeder, about scheduling testing, mating, whelping, and anything else associated with breeding.

The Guardian Home application is required if you are interested in becoming a Guardian Home for one of our dogs. I look forward to hearing from you!
